CADSTAR 7.0

Many additional features and improvements have been added on to the latest version 7.0, that includes measurement tool, shape property for library, no route and via area for footprints, tool tips, drill hole display, pin number display option, etc. CADSTAR optional modules include: P.R.Editor with Constraint Manager which takes care of high-speed routing, impedance control; SI Verify a new tool for CADSTAR 7 is a complete post-layout signal integrity simulation; EMC Advisor, predict, analyse and control design issues that may caused EMI/EMC issues; CADSTAR 3D, seamless link between ECAD and MCAD tools.

High-Speed Constraint Manager
The Constraints Manager, included in all CADSTAR high-speed products, includes functionality that is normally only available in high-cost design tools. The designer may set design constraints in a simple, spreadsheet-like table and these constraints are then maintained throughout the PCB design flow. This cuts product time-to-market by reducing design re-work. Both electrical and physical constraints can be set.

Activ-45
The Activ-45, included in all products with P.R.Editor XR2000 or greater, is a revolutionary set of algorithms that enables fast and accurate, interactive 45-degree routing. Users simply click on the start point then move the mouse along the desired route to the next connection point. The tool automatically completes error-free routing with true 45-degree angles and will push aside routes to achieve this where necessary.

Multiple Width Route Codes
The designer may set the maximum and minimum acceptable width limits as well as the optimal width range. This means that the designer may change route widths without needing to specify each new width individually each time a new width is required.

Component Move and Push aside
The component placement includes the ability to push aside components and have them spring back to their old positions if possible. When moving components a last legal position indicator can be displayed along with a minimum force indicator for the optimal component position based on connection density.

Drawing tools
The drawing tools have been enhanced to provide a more accurate and flexible method of creating, modifying and copying shapes.

Library Management
The library management functions have been enhanced to include the DATASHEET PUBLISHER, included in Gold and above, allowing the entire library to be published in HTML format for use by any internet browser. The library will now also support links to additional files such as datasheets and set some component information to be only editable in the library editor only.
