Rules-by-Area
The rules-by-area function automatically routes using reduced track widths to meet the challenge of small complex dense components such as BGAs, Wire Bonded CSPs and SMDs; to achieve 100% successful routing and reduced layer counts.
Dynamic compliance to area rules during interactive and automatic routing with no limit to the number of different areas defined, allows you to incorporate overlapping areas into your designs that can be any shape. This function also means that you can copy areas, while also obtaining and copying the associated technology restriction rules.
When rules-by-areas really counts:
- When you maybe forced to compromise your design rules when using BGA’s
- When yield is a problem in the design of fine-pitch devices
This unique rules-by-area option enhances our existing routing technology to associate different technology-rules to different areas of the design, reducing layer counts and delivering right-first-time designs.
Spacing classes
CADSTAR's spacing classes set out a matrix format for the installation per layer for the high and low voltage areas. The spacing classes table provides you with cross-reference data for the different spacing classes - in one glance you can see if any required spacing classes are missing.
