[PRESS RELEASE] Fit-For-The-Future Digital Transformation – Local and World-Renowned Technologies Showcased by IME at METALTECH & AUTOMEX Exhibition
KUALA LUMPUR, 23 June 2022 – In conjunction with the annual and one of the largest Machine Tools, Metalworking and Automation Technology exhibition METALTECH & AUTOMEX held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition (MITEC), IME launched the new Stratasys F770, first in Malaysia. The 3D Printer that has a large build capacity which enables manufacturers to print large parts and undertake industrial-scale orders which make 3D printing more affordable. The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Y.B Senator Datuk Lim Ban Hong, Deputy Minister of Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Mr. Teoh Tuan Ka, Chairman and Founder of IME Group of Companies.

This opens up new avenues for innovation in additive manufacturing as well as applications and opportunities for industrial manufactures that small printers do not offer.
In a recent event held by IME, attended by key player from the Automotive and Aerospace industry to explore how Additive Manufacturing could reduce their lead time while saving cost in their production line, 57.9% of the attendees responded that Additive Manufacturing is a game changer, and whoever who is bold enough to invest first shall reap the benefits. The application of 3D Printing in the organisations range highest form Prototyping, to Manufacturing Tools (Jigs & Fixtures, mould and tooling), to End-Use Parts, and Robotic End-Effectors.
“For over 42 years we have brought in different advanced technologies into Malaysia, and over the years we have also started to develop our own solutions to cater for the changes that Industry 4.0 brings to manufactures. We firmly believe that it is crucial for manufactures to begin their digital transformation journey, as disruption has happened and the future is now. We are glad that more local Manufacturers are adopting the technology and we will be with them every step in the way” – TK Teoh, Founder & Chairman, IME Group of Companies.
Apart from Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing or Rapid Prototyping), IME also showcased end-to-end solution in Design to Manufacturing, including 3D and 3D MCAD and ECAD ( Mechanical and Electrical Computer-Aided Design) softwares (SOLIDWORKS, DraftSight), BIM Software of Architecture (ArchiCAD), Product Lifecycle Management and Manufacturing Solutions ( Dassault Systemes, Catia, Enovia, Delmia), Enterprise Resources Planning(ERP,DelmiaWorks), and more.
Collaboration and integration between several equipment such as the miniature Industry 4.0 factory, real-time dashboard for OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), pick to light system, AGV ( automated guided vehicle), Ai vision system, high accuracy CMM systems and cobots ( collaborative robots) was demonstrated at the tradeshow to show local manufacturers that Industry 4.0 is not far-fetched and definitely achievable with an affordable budget.
