IME CADCAM Training Centre (IMECTC) Is Now Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) Approved Training Provider (ATP)

We are pleased to announce that IME CADCAM Training Centre (IMECTC) has been approved by Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) as an Approved Training Provider (ATP). This accreditation allows us to offer MBOT-certified training programmes that align with Section 5(c) of Technologists and Technicians Act 2015 (Act 768), designed to enable professionals to collect Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours as per the MBOT CPD hours collection system.

MBOT advocates for lifelong learning by the importance of CPD as it is a requirement for renewing the registration certification for Professional Technologists (Ts.) and Certified Technicians (Tc.) only. CPD is counted by hours and can be obtained through CPD activities such as our training programmes.

What are CPD Hours?

As Professional Technologists (Ts.) and Certified Techinicians (Tc.), CPD is essential to renew their certificate of registration CPD is counted by hours and can be obtained through CPD activities, such as trainings.

In accordance with Section 25(1) of Technologists and Technician Act 2015 (Act 768), the Board has hereby determined the fulfilment of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as the condition for the certificate of registration’s renewal for Professional Technologists or Certified Technicians.

Professional Technologists (Ts.) and Certified Technicians (Tc.) shall continue to record  any available CPD activities and CPD hours collection will be carried forward and calculated cumulatively for the renewal of registration in the year of 2024 as follows:

The objective of this requirement is to ensure those registered as Professional Technologists and Certified Technicians will continually improve and upgrade their knowledge and skills. The formulation of the CPD is based on the industry requirements after going through a strict verification cycle with the Board under Quality, Training & Education Committee and Technology Expert Panels (TEP).

The implementation of CPD hours in IME CADCAM Training Centre takes effect on 18 August 2023.

How to Earn CPD Hours

  1. Choose the IMECTC’s training courses that you’re interested to join.
  2. Look for the training courses that you’ve chosen and register through MBOT CPD website.
